Mastering Feedback Repository Management with Lume (Case study snapshot)

Now we are going to show you how to manage a spreadsheet feedback repository with Lume

Use Case

Imagine this: Feedback pours in via a Google form, funneled directly into a spreadsheet. Every other week, the product team dives in, sifting through the influx, and categorizing feedback with labels like „Accepted,” „Under Consideration,” and „Declined.” An „Accepted” tag signals imminent action, „Under Consideration” might require further investigation or feedback clarification, while „Declined” often indicates a resolved issue. But here’s the catch: even ‘accepted’ feedback doesn’t always translate to immediate action. With daily feedback entries, these bi-weekly sessions become a daunting task. Spreadsheets, while functional, falter when it comes to digesting qualitative data, especially larger text chunks. And let’s not even talk about their search capabilities. Sound like a familiar headache? Dive in to discover how Lume can revolutionize your process.

How Lume can help you

Setup Steps

  • Create a „New project”
  • „Sync” your spreadsheet. Simply copy and paste the shareable link of your target spreadsheet to synchronize.
  • Optionally, change the name of your project. Opt to rename your project for a snappier, more recognizable title. By default, Lume adopts your spreadsheet’s name.
  • Optionally, set the story title. Every row in your spreadsheet is a story. Choose a column, like ‘Time’ or ‘Feedback Giver’s Name’, to represent each story. Absent a choice, Lume defaults to „Participant [#].”
  • Optionally, for clarity consider changing the name of some of the columns, shortening or refining column names.
  • Hide the existing status field
  • Add a new „Status” field using the „Team field” option.
  • Then „Define” values e.g. Accepted, Under consideration, Declined
  • Then, in the same dialog, set „Highlight story if field is empty”. Use the „Highlight story if field is empty” feature to bolden rows awaiting review, akin to the unread emails in your inbox.
  • Add another editable field using the „Team field” called „Product notes”. Use this field for annotating feedback.
  • Optionally, feel free to add more editable fields, such as „People” or „Priority,” to tailor your feedback management.
  • Once you saved your new project your stories are displayed, ready for action
  • Now make sure the sort is set to „Most recent entry on top”

With Lume’s project setup complete, your next feedback review becomes a breeze. The latest entries, boldly marked, sit right at the top.

But it’s not just about the new feedback. Our unique vertical alignment, presenting rows in a split view, streamlines your reading and analysis process.. This layout is crafted to enhance readability, ensuring that even the most extensive feedback is easily digestible. It’s a refreshing departure from the traditional spreadsheet format, making the analysis not just efficient but also enjoyable.

And for those moments when you need to circle back to older feedback or find specific entries, Lume has got you covered. Our advanced search functionality is robust and intuitive. Whether you’re searching based on the person who assigned the feedback, its current status, its priority level, or even a specific topic it pertains to, Lume ensures that the information you need is just a few clicks away.

Thanks to this qucik and simple yet powerful setup you will be able to manage your feedback project much more easily.
